Dreamland is a cushioned sculpture which embraces the other bulbous marble form I Beg, I Offer with warmth. Beneath the fabric is the same type of electric heat pad the artist uses to combat pain when in isolation. Heat is a transforming sensation to evoke comfort and intimacy. It is often used to deter pain, sometimes by causing other competitive pain. This work gently warms up the marble and sits beside the connecting sculpture For Blezzing / For Isobel, ready to be held by participants while in comfortable positions.
